Eirebus Limited, the leading Irish coach and tour operator, this year proudly celebrates 40 successful years of operation. The company, which was founded on May 12th 1971 currently employs 140 people between its Irish and UK divisions. Over the years Eirebus has evolved into a market leader in coach transport & tourism in Ireland and boasts a strong portfolio of global clients.

Paddy Kavanagh, Managing Director of Eirebus commented at the anniversary event, “This is a very special day for us – and we did not want it to go unmarked. We are hugely proud of our company and enormously grateful to all those who have played a role in our success over the last 40 years. We have gone through some difficult economic periods since our inception, arguably none more challenging than that which we are currently facing. However we have remained bouyant and I am happy to say that Eirebus today remains one of the key industry players in the Irish market.”

Eirebus was founded in 1971 by a group of leading operators and quickly established a stronghold in the marketplace with a continuous investment in new vehicles and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Since its inception, Eirebus has expanded and diversified and today owns 45 deluxe coaches in Dublin and operates a full destination management division. The company also operates several scheduled services including Urbus, Flybus and the recently acquired Swords Express service.

In 1985 the company expanded its operations to the UK, with the establishment of Landtourer Coaches in Southampton and the acquisition of Edinburgh Castle Coaches in 1995. In 2004, Eirebus acquired Edinburgh Coach Lines/Gray Line Scotland, expanding its overall fleet to 80 coaches.

This year, the company continued its growth in the UK with the incorporation of Reach Scotland, its Scottish destination management division.

Paddy concluded, “The future looks bright for Eirebus and we are committed to growing and developing our business while continuously offering excellence in service to our clients. Plans are now in place for further growth in 2012 and beyond, with expected economic recovery in the coming years paving the way for accelerated company progression”

As part of its global marketing strategy, Eirebus will be exhibiting at this year’s World Travel Market London November 7th – 10th (UKI 407).
